He died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. He was born March 23, 1947, in Medford, Mass., the son of Noel Edward and Mildred (Duncanson) Cook.

Services were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa, Kan. Burial followed at 1:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth.

He lived in Tonganoxie before moving to Ottawa. He grew up in Ottawa and graduated in 1965 from Ottawa High School. He attended Emporia State University for a year and a half before entering the U.S. Navy in 1967. He was an electronics technician for six years, stationed in California, Florida and Guam. After he left the Navy, he attended Kansas University. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked in the film industry as a set electrician. He also worked for King Radio in Ottawa and later for Allied Signal/Honeywell in Kansas City, Mo. He moved to Wichita in September 2002.

He married Joan Marlene Price in January 1992 in Ottawa. Survivors include his wife, Joan Cook, of the home; a son, Jeff Cook of North Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Jennifer Campfield, Pomona; two stepsons, Michael Allen Foster, Topeka, and Donald R. Foster, Ottawa; a foster daughter, Wendy McKinney, Wichita; his mother, Mildred Cook, Ottawa; a sister, Sandra Carlson, Wilmington, N.C.; a brother, Dana E. Cook, Lawrence; three grandchildren; and nine step grandchildren.
