Classmates:  The following is a note from the family of Richard Korte, followed by his obituary.  Family may be reached thru Richard’s mailing address:  755 Camaritas Avenue, South San Francisco, California  94080.

This is the obituary for our oldest brother, Richard Korte, Class of 1965.  His death was sudden, unexpected, but peaceful.  He died at home, at his desk, working on his computer, doing what he loved.  We are deeply grieving him but want to thank everyone for the kind words of condolence.  They are a blessing.

Obituary

Richard Lee Korte was born to Al and Marge Korte on April 1, 1947, in Emporia, Kansas. From that minute on, he was the first to appreciate a joke, especially on himself. He was raised in Kansas and attended Kansas State University. His attendance there was bisected by his four years of service in the United States Air Force. After graduating in 1974, Richard moved to California with his young family where he lived for the rest of his life.

He met his wife, Judy, in college; they married in 1968 and remained so until her death in 2018. They were incredibly dedicated parents and were always looking to contribute to their community and church. His curiosity, attention to detail, integrity, humor, and love of his family will be forever remembered by his family, friends, and co-workers.

Richard is survived and missed by his children Scott (Christine) Korte; Melissa (Barry) Osborne; grandchildren Dylan Korte, Maxim (Alexis) Osborne, Atticus Osborne, and Silas Osborne; and siblings and in-laws David Korte (Karen Erickson), JoAnn (Roger) Cowdin, Phil Korte, Greg (Debbie) Korte, Susan Stindt (Cal Bertram). He continues to be loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Dwayne, cherished wife, Judy, parents Al and Marge Korte, parents-in-law Fred and Jane Stindt, nephew Ben Krug, and sister-in-law Jane Korte.

Memorials can be sent to Alma Via of San Francisco, whose care of Judy will always be remembered.

A visitation will be at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, Daly City, on Wednesday July 26th from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be at First Lutheran Church, South San Francisco, on Thursday July 27th at 11:00 am.

Sorry to see this. Dick, Jim Colby, Tom Hickman, Judy Korksmus, Donna Porter and several others were classmates at Sacred Heart and OHS.

His family were great folks and very close.

It sounds like his family were very close and I am sorry for their loss.
