Patricia (Patty) Lane Schulte died Tuesday July 22, 2008 at her home in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born in Joplin on November 13, 1947 to John Daniel Henley and Bette Ruth (Davis) Henley. She is survived by her husband, Tom Schulte, whom she married May 31, 1987, and by her sister, Carol Durst and husband Ronnie of Joplin. Nieces and Nephews include Jon Shaffer, Amy Clements, Nathan Stokes, Gabriel Stokes and Mary Colin. Also surviving are Tom's brother Terry Schulte of Richmond, VA, and his sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Ed Autry of Joplin.

Patty enjoyed a successful career in broadcasting, and she was well known and respected throughout the industry. She was associated with some of Kansas City's largest radio broadcast groups including Bonneville International, Heritage Broadcasting and Entercom Radio. In 1987 Patty and Tom returned to Joplin where they owned and operated KMOQ Radio. Ten years later they sold KMOQ, and both Tom and Patty resumed their broadcasting careers in Kansas City. Patty was loved and respected by virtually everyone with whom she worked, and she will be missed by a large number of friends and colleagues in both cities.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Services will be at noon Saturday in the Pavilion at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Rev. Larry Six presiding. Friends are invited to gather at the home of Marcia and Ed Autry, 2515 E. 12th Street in Joplin after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer society, in care of the mortuary. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
