Michael W. Floyd, 54, Ottawa, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at an Ottawa hospital.

Mr. Floyd worked for King Radio in Ottawa from 1971 to 1983, and he later worked for Hallmark Cards and Radio Shack. He was an electronics assembler for DCI in Lenexa at the time of his death. He was a radar specialist in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He was born October 18, 1947, in Ottawa, the son of Max and Marjorie Brink Floyd. He was reared in Ottawa and graduated from OHS in 1965. He later attended Allen County Community College, Ottawa University, and the University of Kansas.

He married Linda Peppers on June 13, 1971, at Mission. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Bacon, Ottawa, His father Max Floyd, Ottawa; tow brothers Martin Floyd, Lawrence and Miles Floyd, Ottawa; and a grandchild.

Mr. Floyd was cremated. A memorial service will be at 11am Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to Faith Lutheran Church.
