Jerry Bowman, age 61, of Harrison, went to be with God on Friday, September 5, 2008, in Houston, Texas. He was born May 30, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Jerry P. and Augusta Aileen (Yount) Bowman. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his mother.
Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church. He worked in radio for more than 37 years, spending the last 20 years at KHOZ and KBCN, both in Harrison. He woke many of us up in the morning and sometimes drove with us home in the afternoons as he played our favorite country songs. He loved mingling with his listeners, doing remote broadcasts and was always willing to lend a hand when a friend or fellow worker was in need.

Jerry was a member of the Harrison Noon Lions Club. Anyone would tell you that Jerry was a very unselfish person and always thought of others before himself. He was a devoted family man, proud of his sons, Jerry, Jr. and Matthew. He always called himself blessed to be Brenda's husband.

Jerry Lynn Bowman is survived by is loving wife, Brenda C. Bowman, of the home; his sons, Jerry "J. L." Bowman of Harrison and Matthew Bowman of Tontitown, Arkansas; his father, Jerry P. Bowman, of Walnut Creek, California; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ron Borgman, of Monterey, California; two grandsons, Isaiah and Levi Bowman, both of Tontitown; and a host of other family and many, many dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
