Donald Leach

Donald Leach, 73, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Ransom Memorial Hospital.

A private family celebration of life service was held Sunday, April 14, 2019. Inurnment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Donald was born Dec. 17, 1945, in Ottawa, the son of Tate M. and Edna A. (Lee) Leach. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa, living in Goodyear, Arizona from 2013 to 2017. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1963.

Don served in the United States Air Force as a service technician in Okinawa, Japan, from 1964 to 1969.

Don was united in marriage to Linda Moore, Nov. 2, 1991, in Carson City, Nevada. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Ryan Leach, of Kansas City, Kansas; Shaun Butts and wife, Janelle, of Ottawa; and Kelly Butts and wife, Katie, of Ottawa; 13 grandchildren, Izabel Leach, Presley Leach, Tate Leach, Ali Hornbeck, Jack Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds, Austin Bradley, Cordelia Trabing, Layne Thomas, Jacob Dennison, Justin Dennison, Justus Madrigal, and Jace Madrigal; and three great-grandchildren, Kalina Trabing, Jolene Bradley and soon-to-arrive Sterling Trabing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tate and Edna Leach, and cats, Sissy and Molly.

He worked at KCP&L and Kalmar Industries in Quality Assurance, retiring in 2012 after 38 years.

Don loved his kids, grandkids and cats. His favorite past-time was spending time with family and camping. In addition, Don enjoyed working with his dad for years breeding cattle and quarter horses.
