PAMELA J. MITCHELL

Pamela J. Mitchell, 65, Ottawa, died Wenesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services are planned for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery, west of the Baldwin Junction. A viewing for Ms. Mitchell is planned beginning 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home. Her family will meet with friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

She was born June 30, 1947, in Ottawa, the daughter of Emery and Hazel (Sutton) Burgoon. Pam was a lifelong Ottawa resident.

She attended Ottawa schools and attained her GED.

Pam worked for Chartwells Food Service at Garfield Elementary School in Ottawa, until her retirement in August 2012.

She was a member of the VFW Post No. 5901 Women’s Auxiliary and the Aerie Lodge No. 2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary both of Ottawa.

Pam was united in marriage with Gale Mitchell in December 1964. They later divorced.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gaylene Mitchell; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Burgoon.

Pam is survived by her son, Dustin Mitchell and his wife, Paula; a daughter, Melissa Oshel and her husband, Gary; a sister, Pat Gorton; and a brother, William Burgoon, all of Ottawa. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
